PCNW-CGFA-anchor-heart-logoThe Pacific Northwest Coast Guard Family Association is excited to announce the following activities for the 2015 Calendar Year. We will meet on the third Sunday of every month in the CoHo Room on base.  Everyone is invited to attend our board meetings from 2:00-3:00pm. Then from 3:00pm-5:00pm we will enjoy good food, games, or crafts and great conversation! Board meetings and events are open to everyone! Childcare will be offered for most events and will cost $2.00 per hour. We look forward to seeing you at an upcoming event!

Join the CGFA at the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival!!

We’ll meet and explore the RoozenGaarde Tulip Fields and then enjoy a Salmon BBQ lunch at Hillcrest Lodge. Admission to the RoozenGaarde Tulip Field is $5.00 per person ($4.00 with military ID). Children under 10 admitted free. 

Lunch costs $12.00 a plate and includes the following: Alder grilled salmon, baked potato, coleslaw, garlic bread, beverages and ice cream.

You do not need to be a CGFA member to join in on the fun!

CGFA Bunco Event!

WHEN: January 25th   1:30pm to 4:00pm

WHERE: Bear Room, USCG Base Seattle (1519 Alaskan Way South Seattle, WA 98134-1192)

Let’s start the year with a fun game of Bunco together! In case you aren’t familiar with the game it is a super cool and fun social dice game. No skills required except to know how to have fun and get to know each other. We will walk you through when you arrive and then just have a blast. 

Bring a $5 gift to exchange as part of the game (a usual Bunco custom for prizes) and a snack to share. We will provide water and soda for your Bunco enjoyment.

CGFA Cookie Decorating and Exchange

When? December 15th – From 2:30pm till 6:00 pm

Where? USCG Base Seattle – COHO ROOM

A great fun, festive event for you and your family! Come decorate cookies with us and bring some cookies to exchange.

As we get closer to the date, we will let you know how may cookies to bring. We promise it won’t be a huge number of cookies (HA HA HA!) We will have some items to use to decorate the cookies but please feel free to bring your favorite cookie decoration tools.

Feel free to also bring a quick appetizer to share so we don’t gobble up all the cookies. There will also be a small craft for the kids to work on if they are done decorating their cookies. It should be a jolly good time to meet families, catch up AND see what the CGFA has to offer for you and your family.

MFPU Spooktacular/Autumn Bash

The MFPU Family invites you to our Children’s Autumn Bash and Trunk-N-Treat.

Festivities will begin with Trunk-N-Treating in the parking lot at 4:45pm then head towards the training room for games and feast from 5:00 to 6:00pm.

For anyone planning on decorating their trunk, be in the paved parking lot no later than 4:00pm. The gates will be closed promptly at 4 to ensure the safety of our ghosts and goblins. Any vehicles not wishing to participate in the Trunk-N-Treat must park in the lower lot.

Directions to the building:

From Trident Gate, take left at second light (scorpion road)
Go through 2 stop signs, second one being at a set of rail road tracks.
Take the next right (guardfish road)
The parking lot is the dirt lot on the right after rounding the corner (second entrance, first is not MFPU)

From Trigger Gate, take first right (towards East Housing)
Take left onto Guardfish Road (there is a blue TTF/MFPU sign on the right. If you made it to the stop sign at the tracks, you went too far)

Please remember RSVP is very important for this event so the number of children and vehicles attending will be accounted for.

Pumpkin Carving at the Lighthouse

Graciously hosted by Admiral Gromlich and Family and brought to you by the Gromlich family and PacNW CGFA.

Please bring carving tools, a pumpkin to carve and a side to share. Hamburgers and sodas will be provided by our hosts.

Costumes are encouraged! There will be a trophy and prize for the best costume! Will it be you?

3rd CGFA BBQ & Bake Sale

Help the Puget Sound’s Coast Guard Family Association raise money at our only annual fundraiser!

When: August 21, 2013     From 10:30am – 1:00pm

Where: CG Base Seattle in front of the Gym

Outside of the base gym, we’ll be selling:

  • cookies
  • water
  • homemade treats
  • hot dogs
  • burgers
  • sodas
  • chips

We will need VOLUNTEERS to help us:

  • Setup/clean up at and after the event
  • Cooks to BBQ (ask your hubbies and see if they can lend a hand)
  • Sell BBQ and Baked goods
  • Help promote

Please let us know ASAP if you can help us make this event successful. Kids are welcome as long as they can be safe and well behaved since there will be a big grill and lots of food around. ;) The event starts at 10:30 but if you can make it beforehand to help setup and get everything ready that would be great.

If you want to bake something to sell and can’t make it to the event, check and see who is coming from around where you live and see if they can bring your items. Of course you can send them with your hubby’s too!!! (as long as they don’t eat it before arriving! Ha!
